One of the most classic and versatile trends for spring is the tall boot. Tall boots are a great transitional wardrobe piece, especially for those who live in areas with a lot of melting snow. Here are some of my favourite ways to style boots for spring!
Skinny Jeans or Leggings
Styling tall boots with skinny jeans (or leggings if skinny jeans aren’t your thing) is a classic look. To modernize the look, opt for a more oversized look on the top to balance the tightness on the bottom, such as an oversized blazer, as shown in the image, or for those cooler spring days, you can pick a chunky knit sweater on the top. I know skinny jeans tend to get a bad rap these days as being outdated, but I find they are still great as a layering piece, and typically when I style them I treat them the same as I do leggings.
With a Midi Skirt or Dress
The midi skirt or dress is such a versatile piece on its own, pairing well with everything from sneakers to heels, and sandals to boots. Tall boots with a midi is a really classic look that can carry you for many seasons.
With a Mini Skirt
The mini skirt is a classic piece, and again is incredibly versatile. One of my favourite ways to “dress up” the mini is to pair it with tall boots. When I wear a mini I tend to steer away from pumps or heels, it starts to move away from looking classy and timeless, but if you wanted to wear a heeled boot (such as a chunky heel like above or higher, or even a more slim heel) that would work too.
